Horning Village Overview
The scenic surroundings of Horning Village are sure to have you relaxed in an instant and if you want almost unbeatable views of the River Bure then this is the place to be. It’s also the place to be if you want fantastic holiday accommodation, as Horning Ferry Marina can be found a short distance further through the village where you can hire a holiday cruiser or book one of the brand new for 2013 luxury riverside homes.

If you’re thinking of visiting Horning Village just for the day then you will find plenty of car parking spaces available at the riverside pay & display car park nest to The Swan pub. This is quite popular however, so if it’s full or you would like to park for free, head up to the village hall, where you can park for free all day & all night. It’s an extra walk back to the village centre but at least you won’t have to worry about carrying spare change for a ticket machine. Next to the village hall is a large grassy area with a children’s playground. This is a great place to relax on those super sunny summer days while you let the kids let off some steam on the playing equipment. If you decide to park in the pay & display car park, you will be instantly greeted with a beautiful view of the River Bure and an Amercian style paddleboat, which offers tours of the river. This is a great way to see the area by water and you may even see some of the famous Norfolk Broads also.

If you start feeling peckish pay a visit to the Swan Inn, which serves delicious food throughout the day & into the evening. It also has an outside area where you can enjoy a drink while overlooking the water. If you take a stroll along Lower Street you will pass two more lovely pubs & a number of shops where you can pick up a souvenir from your trip to the beautiful Norfolk Broads.

Where can I stay at Horning Village?
Horning Village is in fact one of the best places to visit for accommodation, as this is where you will find the very popular Horning Ferry Marina, which offers some of the best Norfolk Broads holidays north of the Waveney Valley. Ferry Marina also has some fantastic on site facilities including Harry the Heron’s coffee shop & café and a heated indoor pool & spa. If you love traditional fish & chips then you won’t be able to resist visiting the Horning Fish Bar, which is also on site & next to the pool & café. Here you can enjoy tasty favourites including cod, haddock & place, mushy peas, sausages, fishcakes and more.

What else is nearby?
If you’re visiting Horning Village by road, chances are that you will be coming through Wroxham via the Horning Road. Just before you come across the village (to the right) you will see one of Norfolk’s most popular attractions just to your left. This excellent attraction is Bewilderwood and it’s the perfect place to take the kids, as there are numerous slides, rope bridges, things to climb and plenty to see, so you definitely won’t be bored during your visit.

The popular village of Hoveton is also just a short distance down the road. Often called Wroxham, Hoveton is the home of the very popular Roys department store and there are plenty of other shops here to take advantage of also, as well as cafes & restaurants. If you’ve come prepared, why not enjoy a picnic in the riverside park or try a spot of fishing by the moorings.
