Hoveton Great Broad
We love Hoveton Great Broad here at broads holidays, it is one of the largest broads in Norfolk & is conveniently situated in the heart of one of the most popular parts of the Norfolk Broads. However, many don’t even know it’s there, as it’s hidden behind woodland there is no access by water or by road. Thankfully you are allowed to visit it, so why not try and find it during your next visit to the UK’s largest wetland.
This beautiful broad can be found along the River Bure just to the southeast of Wroxham and directly opposite Salhouse Broad, which is in itself a fantastic place to visit. If you decide to visit by road, you will need to park at Salhouse Broad car park. From here you can enjoy a lovely nature trail down to the water, where you will be greeted with wonderful views and the opportunity to enjoy the water via canoe hire. Salhouse Broad is also where you will find the ferry that will take you across to Great Hoveton Broad for a small fee. Once you have reached the bank, simply walk through the woodland and you will find yourself on a beautiful picnic spot, which is the ideal place to enjoying an afternoon of uninterrupted peace.

Where to stay at Hoveton Great Broad
Hoveton Broads great location puts in between Hoveton Village (Wroxham), which is the capital of the broads and the picturesque village of Horning where you will find Horning Ferry Marina. This is the number one place for Norfolk Broads boating holidays, as the marina is filled with holiday cruisers of various births, allowing you to hire the boat that’s right for you and enjoy in your own time. Because there is no direct road access to Hoveton Great Broad and no direct river access either, it’s much easier by boat, as you can moor along the bank and walk through the woods where you will be able to enjoy beautiful views of the water.
